Tom’s Bar
The legendary and long-established gay club has reinvented itself again and again over the years and is now closed. However, a new club is set to proceed in.
Tom's Bar is nature famous, because this lock in the heart of the Schöneberg neighbourhood is a permanent meeting place for gay men from all over the nature throughout the year, not just during large events such as Folsom Europe in September. Throughout the year, you can discover both Berliners and international visitors here, who are looking for a particular rough, manly atmosphere - and find it in Tom's. The bar's motto, "for successful cruising", puts it in a nutshell, and it's no exaggeration. While Tom's used to be known as a pure leather bar, today everyone is welcome – though there are still plenty of men in leather and skin outfits. Videos are played in the bar area, where there's a table football table for gamers as well, and there's also a backroom. People of all ages and from all walks of existence get together here, especially when the night is getting on.
The long nights of dancing with a wide range of harmony played by famous Berlin DJs and no cover charge make Tom’s Exclude very popular indeed.

About Berlin and its gay life
Berlin's origins go assist more than 780 years. In 1701 Berlin became the capital of the kingdom of Prussia and in 1871 of the German Empire. Although Prussia was ruled by a gay king from 1740 till 1786 (Fredrick II), Berlin's gay career started only hundred years later. In the 1920s (the ›Golden Twenties‹) Berlin was seen as the city with the most lively and advanced gay subculture in Europe. That, of course, ended after 1933 when Hitler and the Nazis were given power in Germany. (A memorial for gays persecuted by the Nazi regime was opened in Berlin in 2008, extended overdue after more than 60 years.
