Biography

Joshua Ledet is a highly-gifted singer, songwriter and artist, who possesses a soulfully thunderous voice, that is unmistakably bred from a blues and down-home church tradition. And yet, such effortless vocals hail from a young man who is only in his early 20s. Joshua has rocked the pews of churches, mesmerized American Idol audiences, and sang for dignitaries such as the President and First Lady of the United States. Joshua knew early in life that music was a gift bestowed upon him. Born in West Lake, Louisiana, Joshua was the youngest of 8 children. In his hometown, Joshua attended the Dwelling of Prayers Holiness Church where at the age of 12 he performed his first solo for a shockingly surprised congregation. Church played a crucial role in Joshua’s training, as it was the place where he fine-tuned his God-given gift for music. “I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for the church,” he says. “My father being the pastor made it very clear that we all must attend service every Sunday. Watching my mother pour out her heart and connect with the audience through her singing inspired me

Everything You Need To Realize About Joshua Ledet’s ‘American Idol’ Concert At Burton Coliseum

Being a part of "American Idol’s" Top 3 has its privileges — namely, you get to come home and observe your family and friends.  When it comes to Josh, that group is getting larger by the minute!  While Josh will be in our studios Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and on the streets of Westlake for a parade at noon, he’ll blow the doors off the Burton Coliseum at 6 p.m. during his “pep rally” performance.  Here’s what you require to know:

1.  The event is free, but tickets might be hard to come by.

Tickets became free for the event 8 p.m. Thursday night, and even though there were 7,900 available, it’s difficult to say how you’ll come by them if you didn’t wait in line Thursday night.  The only thing you acquire going for you is that each person was allowed only two tickets apiece.  So, there may still be hope.  …And we may have more details on that later…

2. Doors will open at 4 p.m., Josh will take the stage after 6 p.m.

And since seats are general admission, th

American Idol Recap: Why Wouldn't Joshua Ledet Put His Arm Around Phillip Phillips?!

American Idol had five contestants left and two hours to fill—what to do?

Well, besides having Phillip Phillips and Joshua Ledet duet for the first day, the producers came up with one round of tune from the 1960s and another rotund of British pop.

Bully!

Hollie Cavanagh kicked off the show with the barn burner "River Deep, Mountain High"—the very anthem that sent Pia Toscano packing last year. The judges said they loved it, but we actually remember how great Pia was with the Ike and TinaTurner slap, so...we'll see what happens.

Phillip Phillips gave the heavy-strings-and-drum treatment to theBox Tops' "The Letter," totally switching up the melody in the process to (surprise!) a Dave Matthews-reminscent jam—and it worked! It was the most feeling Phillip had brought to a performance in several few weeks.

Jennifer Lopez admitted to not knowing the original, sigh, so she had a little trouble critiquing what she apparently wasn't sure she was hearing. Steven Tyler said that he missed the original melody, but he figured tha

No matter what your lying eyes are telling you, American Idol hopeful, Joshua Ledet, is not lgbtq+. at least that's what his Facebook page says.

Wednesday, Leget, who is from Westlake, Louisiana, made it through to the next round.

As he sashayed his way down the runway to study his fate, his mannerisms reminded me of another Idol contestant who was kicked off the show: Jacob Lusk.

When Lusk was on the exhibit, I was nearly crucified when I predicted that the American Idol audience would never crown an effeminate black man as an "idol".

In the end, I was right.

Like Lusk, Leget has an amazing voice, but America isn't ready for a black male singer who comes off as being "soft".

Mark my words.
