Will captain marvel be gay
'Captain Marvel' producer explains why we didn't find out the superhero's sexual self in her movie
March's "Captain Marvel" left fans wondering whether or not Carol Danvers may be the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first openly gay or bi character. (After "Endgame," we know that's no longer the case.)
Why didn't the film explore her sexuality? INSIDER was told there wasn't any time for it in the movie's two-hour run time.
"Speaking to Captain Marvel, in that installment, that was a movie about self-discovery and Carol re-finding herself. So, in executing the clip, we felt there wasn't room in the narrative to tell that story," "Captain Marvel" producer and Marvel Studios director of production and development, Mary Livanos, told INSIDER at the espnW Summit in New York City Wednesday.
"Captain Marvel" is an beginning story for Carol Danvers who was born on Earth, but lived with Kree aliens on another planet after gaining superhero powers and being forced to forget her former life. Still, after the movie's release, many fans believed Danvers' friendship with fellow Air Force pilot Maria Rambeau may be more than platonic.
Actresses Brie Larso
And while we’ve yet to hear from Marvel on what they’re going to do with her in regards to this, producer Victoria Alonso has already teased that it’s workable we’ll see Captain Marvel come out in the sequel. During her Reddit Ama, someone brought up the idea and the studio exec noted that “Carol could eventually possess a love story with someone of the identical sex,” before saying that she thinks “it would be something incredible on the part of the McU.”

A Gay Captain Marvel Would Be The MCU's Biggest Utterance on Diversity
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has made it clear that steady storytelling and inclusivity will be an even bigger part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the wake of the Infinity Saga. We've seen some of this already, of course, from Black Panther's "Wakanda Forever" being embraced globally, and how audiences have greeted the message of feminism in Captain Marvel.
Of course, the Brie Larson-helmed film has opened the door for the studio to make an even bigger remark by presenting the fresh face of the MCU as a straight-up LGBT character.

Larson has already playfully stoked these flames on social media, enthusiastically sharing fan art of her and Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie in a romantic lock-up. Valkyrie is multi-attracted in the MCU, though we haven't seen it on-screen, and there's something deeper to mine here than mere 'shipping. Why can't the strongest Avenger out there, the one who's leading the new era of Marvel movies, be gay?

Captain Marvel Is Officially Queer: Marvel's New Hero Reveals Their LGBTQ+ Identity
Marvel's unused Captain Marvel is among the publisher's most strong queer superheroes of all time, as they show their romantic past with lesbian hero America Chavez. Hailing from the 61st century, the new Captain Marvel leads a novel version of the Guardians of the Galaxy, who have traveled back through time to ensure the creation of the "post-scarcity, post-imperialist paradise-in-progress" from which they originate.
In Deniz Camp, Juan Frigeri, Federico Blee and Travis Lanham's The Ultimates #8, the Ultimates go up against the new Guardians of the Galaxy, made up of new versions of Star-Lord, Cosmo, Ultimate Nullifier, and Captain Marvel. It turns out that they're on a mission to spare Ultimates member America Chavez, who was originally part of their group and in a relationship with Captain Marvel.
Sadly, America's memories of her past possess been excised by the regime of the bad Maker, who was using America as a force source until the Ultimates staged a rescue mission. While America is unwilling to rekindle a bond she no longer remembers, the Ultimates and Guardians leav

Journey down the rabbit hole of film and you’ll see all types of relationships: friendships, sibling contest, romantic relationships between straight character, but often missing are those between gay characters. When Disney tells us that there will be a gay nature added to a classic film, fans everywhere get ecstatic . We celebrate Disney for adding brand-new voices to their stories. But when it turns out that an “explicitly gay” character isn’t really explicitly homosexual at all, fans get angry. Fans are angry that representation in major films like Disney and Marvel movies for LGBTQ+ characters primarily exist on TV. So when Captain Marvel (2019) premieres in theaters fans are hopeful that a homosexual character in the comics translates to a queer traits in the films. But as we know, films and their source material are different entities. The “cinematic universe” is different from the “comic universe.” When fans position the label of “lesbian” or “bisexual” onto Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), they change her as a character.
In America and across the world there’s this unconscious bias, where we still see women as the caretakers and men as the provid
