In a step toward more diversity, Marvel's expanding film existence will give Captain America: Civil War's Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman, his possess movie in 2018, and introduce a female superhero, Captain Marvel, in 2019. But in the 15 films released by the Disney-owned studio so far, from 2008's Iron Man through the just-released Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, one community has not been represented at all: LGBT people.

Promoting the Guardians sequel, director James Gunn offered his control perspective on the issue, telling The Guardian that gay characters may already exist within the Marvel cinematic universe—but they acquire not been identified.

"Somebody asked me, 'Will there be any gay characters in Marvel movies?' There's a lot of characters in the MCU. Very rare of them possess we delved into what their sexuality is—whether it's lgbtq+, straight or attracted to both genders, we don't really know," he said. Is Agatha All Along Really Marvel's Gayest Show Yet?

After years of well-built-up anticipation, Marvel finally, and recently, releasedAgatha All Along, and it is currently airing on Disney+. As a spin-off of the 2021 miniseries WandaVision, fans expected great things, and so far, the show has really delivered. Featuring Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, and Joe Locke as Teen, Agatha All Along is a direct continuing of the events of WandaVision. With Wanda's death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans have been thoroughly enjoying the direction that the show has taken, exceeding the expectations left behind by the fantastic WandaVision.

At the premiere, one of the show's stars, Aubrey Plaza, revealed, "It will be a queer explosion by the finish of it," (as reported by Variety). Hearing this news, the personal excitement of catching up with the show only heightened. However, to some, this was actually a critique of the casting and plot choices and not something to boast about.

This does beg the doubt. Is Agatha All Along really the gayest present Marvel has released to date? And if so, why has this gotten some fans angry enough to leave intentionally

Why MCU’s First Openly Homosexual Moment Is Bullshit Representation

Disney’s at it again. The studio that’s so large and powerful that it owns Pixar, Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Cosmos, and a slew of Fox properties, is claiming it’s breaking ground in gay representation by doing the very least doable. Last time it was Beauty and the Beast’s “exclusively gay moment.” Now, it’s the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it lgbtq+ character in Avengers: Endgame.

Below are minor spoilers for Avengers: Endgame

Deadline has announced Avengers: Endgame contains “the first openly lgbtq+ character to appear in a Disney/Marvel movie.” Which sounds like big news! But the reality is predictably disappointing. For those of you who contain already seen the show, you may well be scratching your heads, wondering if you missed something for a bathroom crack or while the audience was roaring with excitement. More likely you forgot the scene and the character because it’s totally inconsequential.

Here’s a clue: The character was played by Joe Russo [pictured above], who co-directed this film, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Ca why is marvel so gay

A gay superhero would finally give LGBTQ kids the visibility they need — so why are we still waiting?

Marvel showed commitment to giving full onscreen representation to an often underrepresented organization with "Black Panther." Ryan Coogler's show was the first time many children of color around the world saw themselves in the main characters on the big screen.

"Black Panther" was a celebration of Inky culture in one of the biggest, most talked-about movies of the year. And, while others can describe how groundbreaking and revolutionary "Black Panther" was far better than I can, it's not hard to see the positive impact the production had in terms of representation.

It's age that Feige and the MCU embraced the LGBTQ people in the similar way.

The story so far

So far, the MCU has had one openly LGBT character in the entirety of its 23 films. That was "Avengers: Endgame" director Joe Russo himself making a cameo in "Endgame." Russo played a man in Steve Rodgers' support community post-snap who casually mentioned that he went on a date with a guy.

To be clear, my encounter lit up in the cinema when watching this, and it was exactly the sort of representation that we sometime
