The recent cancelation of Marvel’s latest Guardians of the Galaxy series has resulted in a massive void for the company’s LGBTQIA+ representation. Widely popular with fans, some have speculated that the title’s emphasis on exploring the diversity of sexualities on the team was a major reason for Marvel’s choice to end the series.
Throughout Al Ewing’s 18-issue sprint on Guardians of the Galaxy, there was a heavy focus on LGBTQIA+ representation. The team’s roster boasted a range of sexual orientations, featuring prominent lesbian, bisexual, and same-sex attracted couples in Moondragon and Phyla-Vell, Hercules and Marvel Boy, and Hulkling and Wiccan. Al Ewing, Juann Cabal, Federico Blee, and Cory Petit’s Guardians of the Galaxy #9, in particular, stands out in this regard, with Star-Lord coming out as bisexual. These diverse identities made the series a wellspring of representation for LGBTQIA+ readers, but some fans think that they also led to, or were a contributing factor to, the story’s abrupt conclusion.

Kevin Feige Confirms MCU Will Soon Introduce Two LGBTQ Characters
Marvel Studios may finally be ready to reveal LGBTQ characters exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
During a pressurize interview with The Playlist for Ant-Man and the Wasp, President Kevin Feige confirmed there are plans to introduce not one, but two LGBTQ characters in the MCU, with one creature an established character, and the other a person not yet seen on the big screen.

When asked if LGBTQ characters were in the works, Feige replied with a basic , "Yes." When pressed if the character is someone we've seen before, he added, "Both ones you’ve seen and ones you haven’t seen."
The established nature Feige is referring to could possibly be Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie from Thor: Ragnarok. Though it wasn't obvious from the film, Thompson confirmed Valkyrie’s sexuality while responding to a fan exchange on Twitter. “She’s bi,” Thompson wrote. “And yes, she cares very little about what men think of her. What a delight to play!”

Marvel revealed this week that character Peter Quill, known as Star-Lord, is attracted to both genders. A new comic book released on Dec. 9, Guardians of the Galaxy No. 9, includes the story "I Shall Construct You a Star-Lord," which describes Star-Lord's background and sexual orientation, according to Screen Rant.
In the story, Peter Quill (who is portrayed by Chris Pratt in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) was invited by two blue humanoids named Aradia and Mors to trial their "togetherness" on the planet Morinus,Hypebeast reports.
However, he initially rejected their advances and told them he had to get back abode to his boyfriend Gamora, who is played by Zoe Saldana on screen.
Twelve years later, he apparently had a change of heart. During one scene in the Home of Death and Rebirth, Peter took a bath in a special temple alongside Aradia and Mors. The three closed in for a hug after Peter told them, "You're my home." Mors replied, "The you-that-was is over
